Mahiya is a proud local Gold Coast label and we’re constantly inspired by the local talent that surrounds us, be it local artists, musicians, chefs and restaurateurs, baristas and artisan bakers. We wanted to share the love and profile below just a few of our favourite eating and drinking places across the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia…
Feather & Docks // Palm Beach
One of our favourite places to grab a locally roasted speciality coffee, along with a yummy breakfast or lunch. The simple but tasty breakfast and lunch menu changes with the seasons and the fresh pressed juices are divine. Feather & Docks has a totally chilled out skater/beach vibe, perfect for the rad Palm Beach community. Check out the painted skateboard decks and other street style artwork hanging on the exposed brick walls. // 1/1099 Gold Coast Highway, Palm Beach.
Black Coffee Lyrics // Surfers Paradise
A real hidden gem of a place buried within the back streets of Surfers Paradise, you really have to discover this place and try it for yourself. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, everything served up here is fantastic from the coffee to the cocktails, and the food is equally as good with awesome dishes such as the super tasty apple glazed pork ribs. Often hosting live music of the highest caliber, this is one of our fave hipster hangouts on the Gold Coast. // Level 1, 3131 Surfers paradise Boulevard, Surfers Paradise.
The 4217 // Surfers Paradise
The new kid on the block, The 4217 is a remarkable transformation of the area next to the main coach stop in Surfers Paradise. It’s a destination market place. It’s a place to get quality food and delicious coffee. It’s a place to appreciate some stunning large scale art installations. A well needed injection of culture has been achieved in this modern urban village just two blocks from the surf. //10 Beach Road, Surfers Paradise.
Cardamon Pod // Broadbeach
The sister restaurant to the ever popular Cardamon Pod in the beautiful Byron Bay is a glamorous vegan and vegetarian urban retreat. Offering you the perfect balance between healthy and tasty, this little gem of a place serves up colourful, creative and guilt free cuisine. The perfect choice for the health conscious hippies amongst us. // 1/2685 Gold Coast Highway, Broadbeach.
Etsu Izakaya // Mermaid Beach
Who doesn’t love sushi? Described as “loud, bustly and a little bit hectic” the menu focuses on fresh sashimi, their famous soft shell crab and spicy chicken karage. The Paddock is another hidden gem, but an extremely popular one. There is a good reason why this place is packed for breakfast and lunch. That oven happens to cook some of the best food, fresh artisan loaves, doughnuts and cakes you will find.
